Meaning Drift Detective

Cycling preparations

Compare two fictional lists. Each card shows its baseline and contrast positions; a blank means the word was not sampled there. Two blank ranks mean it comes from the separate sample named below.

Positions 2 and 5 differ by three, so they count as stable. Positions 2 and 6 differ by four, so they count as a rank shift. File each card, then check its explanation.

Three authored English examples have eight cards each. These invented positions teach a fixed comparison rule; they do not measure popularity or real changes in meaning.

Custom provider settings

Compare configured provider samples. If the provider is unavailable, this experimental mode may show labelled placeholders. Return to authored practice.

Authored practice: baseline = Cycle shop display; contrast = Rainy ride checklist; separate sample = Baking cupboard. Positions are invented for this exercise, not measured Contextoid ranks.

Select a card, then choose its sample category. Both ranks within three places count as stable; a difference of four or more is a rank shift. A blank rank means not found in that sample, not absent from the topic. These scope differences do not establish historical meaning change. Check commits your filing, counting unfiled cards as incorrect; Reveal is unscored. Practice retry reuses the same sample.

Progress is not saved.
