How to play

Select an Across or Down clue, then type its word into the grid. A crossing uses the very same letter for both words. The current clue stays above the grid.

Check word tests only the selected clue. A correct word earns 100 points and fixes its letters. Each different incorrect word checked costs 10 points; incomplete words and repeated identical checks are free.

A letter hint fixes one missing or incorrect letter in the selected word. Each hint costs 10 points, with up to three in the whole puzzle. Hinted letters help at crossings but don't earn a word until you check it.

Typing moves forward through the selected word. Arrow keys move through the grid, Backspace erases, Enter checks the word, and Space switches direction at a crossing.

Reveal ends the puzzle at zero points and keeps the count of words you actually earned. No timer or account. Daily changes at 00:00 UTC. This authored collection repeats 8 daily puzzles and has 4 separate practice puzzles. The saved-progress notice shows whether this browser or the server is keeping your progress.
